Unsolicited thought of the day

What do you do when you have clear business needs but haven´t yet built the confidence and balance sheet to shop for the traditional solutions?

In many growing companies, there comes a point where the organization needs senior expertise across business development, marketing, and digital/IT – but can’t afford to hire a full-time CMO, CDO, Head of Business Development and a COO to bridge visions to structured operations.

I think this is a common dilemma in smaller growing companies:

  • A clear vision exists, but it’s still vague when translated into everyday actionable work.
  • The company needs to scale sales, brand AND digital channels simultaneously.
  • Projects (needs) pile up, but no one bridges the gap between creativity, business logic and IT execution.

What is valuable for companies in situations like this is a seasoned leader with broad, T-shaped experience. A person who on the one hand is native in all three worlds – business, marketing, and IT and can translate strategy into action while making sure the vision actually lives in day-to-day operations, and on the other hand (through many successes and fails) have learned to frequently take a step back and challenge if the current red hot needs really are what is most important to the business at any given time. Prioritizing will always be the holy grail for growing companies as we always want to do a heck lot more than we have the capacity to do.

The solution? A seasoned leader who bridges these worlds, translating vision into daily execution and ensuring growth projects deliver real impact.

Think of it as a COO for transformation – connecting strategy with action, and keeping the whole organization moving in the same direction.

That´s all. Unsolicited thought of the day, #SoundMyOwnHorn edition ;)
